LASIK: What Are the REAL Benefits?

What to expect during LASIK

First, special lasers are used to create a flap on the front of your eye, known as your cornea. Upon doing so, your surgeon will lift back your flap and use lasers to reshape your cornea to correct your vision.

Next, your flap is laid back down by your surgeon and you’re prescribed eye drops to allow your eye to properly heal. From there, you’re safe to be driven home and instructed to follow up with your surgeon as directed.

Most commonly used to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, LASIK can also be used to offset blurry vision up close from presbyopia (which is the loss of reading vision that comes with age).
