Hydraclear 1 technology

This lens has an incredible design and features Hydraclear 1 technology. As a result, it maintains a consistently lubricated surface across the entire lens. This results in a lens that’s clinically shown to deliver comfort comparable to wearing nothing at all.

Best in class UV protection

Providing 96.9% UVA and >99.9% UVB protection, 1-Day Acuvue TruEye delivers the highest level of UV protection available through a daily contact lens. Since exposure to UV radiation is known to cause damage to your eyes, this added protection is a welcomed bonus that sets this lens apart from its competitors.

Powers, availability and more

1-Day Acuvue TruEye is available in powers ranging from -12 to +6. Therefore, it is designed to fit a large range of contact lens wearers. Also, it has a blue visibility tint and a “123” inside-out marking that make it easier for you to put in and take out.

What people are saying…

From the manufacturer

According to Johnson and Johnson Vision:

  • 1-Day Acuvue TruEye Contact Lenses are daily contact lenses that offer exceptional comfort thanks to Hydraclear 1 technology, which maintains a consistently lubricated surface, resulting in a contact lens that’s clinically shown to deliver comfort comparable to no lens wear at all.
  • Offers the highest level of UV protection available in a contact lens.
  • 98% of available oxygen reaches the front of your eye (i.e. cornea).

From our eye care team

Dr. Ryan Corte1-Day Acuvue TruEye contacts lens is a great premium daily lens option that isn’t as expensive as Acuvue Oasys 1-Day and Dailies Total1. Surprisingly, this contact lens has the best UV protection in a daily contact lens – better than even Acuvue Oasys 1-Day when you compare UVA protection. I find patients love the comfort of this lens, however, it is unfortunate that it does not come in astigmatism or multifocal lens options. – Dr. Ryan Corte

Is the 1-Day Acuvue TruEye right for you?

  • Designed with great breathability and Hydraclear 1 technology that maintains a consistently lubricated surface across the entire lens.
  • Best in class UV protection (96.9% UVA and >99.9% UVB).
  • Has a nice visibility tint and inside-out marker that makes them easy to put in and take out.

  • While cheaper than other premium contact lenses, it still comes with a higher price tag than other daily options.
  • Not available in a multifocal or astigmatism lens option.

While not as expensive as Acuvue Oasys 1-Day or Dailies Total1, these lenses still aren’t cheap. Before purchasing them, the best place to look is at your eye doctor’s office. However, if you’re looking to price things out from home, consider checking out contact lens retailers online. Right now a 90 pack of lenses is going for ~ $50-60 a box.

Unfortunately, there is currently not a rebate available for this contact lens.

Final thoughts

Want all day comfort with clear, crisp vision for all activities? Leave the dryness behind with the technology in this lens.

In particular, the Hydraclear 1 technology behind this lens is impressive, embedding a moisture-rich wetting agent. This lens is thinner than most, which allows the comfort to be maintained all day.

Also, it is consistent with all the Acuvue daily lenses, providing UV protection blocking over 96% of UVA and UVB. Another plus is this lens comes in two different base curves allowing patients to have a more precise fit to their eye. In addition, it has a light blue tint that makes handling very easy.

On the other hand, the 1-Day Acuvue TruEye does not offer contacts for astigmatism or multifocal, like the Acuvue Oasys 1-Day. Also, there are currently no rebates for this lens.

For a sphere or monovision patient, I find this lens beats the rest in comfort and consistency of vision all day long.

Hi, my name is Dr. Rachael Wruble. I’m born and raised in Bad Axe, MI and now practice in the Charlotte, NC area. I went to optometry school at the Michigan College of Optometry and became an optometrist because my golf coach made me apply to the school – but it’s the best decision I ever made. I love to help out patients and make sure they can see to the best of their ability. I have a passion for advanced dry eye – (particularly) to help those patients where maybe drops are just not enough.
